Bio

Albert is a litigation associate with a background in civil engineering. He has more than 12 years experience in insurance defence and construction law.

 

Albert’s practice involves construction and engineering, professional liability, environmental contamination, fire loss, products liability, occupiers' liability, personal injury, property damage and commercial transactions. He concentrates on insurance defence, subrogation, and coverage matters.

Education & Awards

Education

Albert was called to the British Columbia bar in 2004 and to the Ontario bar in 2010.

 

Albert was awarded a Master of Laws from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Laws from Queen's University. Previously, he earned a Bachelor of Engineering at McGill University with a major in structural engineering and minors in construction project management and business administration

 

Awards

Albert received the Peter Hogg Graduate Award (2003) and the Graduate Dean's Academic Award (1999) for his work as a graduate law student. He also received various honours and awards for his studies and research work in civil engineering at McGill University, including N.S.E.R.C. and Dean's List awards.

Albert has guest lectured in bioethics and law & society courses at Osgoode Hall Law School and Department of Social Science, York University. He was also a legal research and writing instructor at Osgoode Hall for several years.
